Description
A tribute to Junghans’ legacy in competitive sports timing, the 1972 Competition channels the spirit of the 1970s with unmistakable flair. With its distinctive oval case, bold dial design, and top-mounted pushers reminiscent of a handheld stopwatch, this automatic chronoscope is both a performance tool and a style statement.
Driven by the J880.5 automatic movement, the 1972 Competition delivers precise chronograph functionality with a 30-minute counter at 12 o’clock, small seconds at 6, and date display—all housed in a robust stainless steel case. The white dial features a sunburst finish beneath a matte transparent lacquer, contrasted with white totalizers, tachymeter scale, and luminous minute markers. Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating ensures clarity, while the four-fold screwed case back features a special edition engraving.
A white cowhide leather strap with grey lining and perforation adds a sporty edge, secured with a stainless steel inlay and folding clasp for a secure, comfortable fit.
